Helpful Tips
- Before using the gages, make sure they are clean and free of any dirt, rust, or damage. Use a soft cloth or brush to wipe off any debris. Do not use any abrasive materials or solvents that could damage the gage surface or coating.
- Apply a thin layer of thread compound or lubricant to the gage and the thread to be inspected. This will reduce friction and wear and improve the accuracy and repeatability of the measurement.
- Align the gage and the thread carefully and insert the gage gently. Do not force the gage or use excessive torque. Rotate the gage slowly and smoothly until it reaches the reference point or the hand-tight position.
